Meanwhile, in NWFP, the Northern Areas, and the Kashmir region, solar radiation is intense from April to September, and from March to October in Punjab. The normal measure of daylight in Pakistan is eight and a half hours each day. It has been observed that the southern part of Pakistan, where the annual solar Direct Normal Irradiance (DNI) is above 5.3kWh/m2/day, is ideally suitable for photovoltaic technologies.
